Why Bylaws Matter
Often overlooked until there is a problem, the CTA governance documents should provide the ground rules for how you operate your CTA. Who can be a member? Do you have committees? How often do you meet? All of these questions can be answered with your local Bylaws.
What to Include
- CTA Name and Purpose
- Officer Titles, Roles, and Term Limits
- Election and Voting Procedures
- Dues Amount and Collection Rules
- Meeting Frequency and Quorum Requirements
- Amendments Process
Reviewing & Revising
- Review bylaws at least once per year.
- Use the editable template to propose updates.
- Follow your current bylaws for how amendments must be adopted (usually by vote).
