The Missouri State Teachers Association held its annual Assembly of Delegates on Nov. 16. Members from across the state met in Columbia to conduct the association's business, with 473 members serving as voting delegates.
Delegates also voted on resolutions setting MSTA's positions on various policies, including increasing the minimum teacher salary, addressing excessive liquidated damages and supporting an increase to the Career Ladder program.
Amy Kelsey (East Buchanan) was elected President-Elect and Lana Moore (Mt. Vernon) was elected to serve as Vice President. Following the Nov. 17 General Assembly, outgoing President Stacy Blakley (St. James) passed off the gavel to new President Pam Lowe (Sikeston).
