What makes you eager to start a new semester or new year? What makes me eager to start a new school year is the possibility for new relationships with students and families. Summer break was relaxing and provides enough time to reset and be ready for the new school year. The excitement that kids have on the first day of school is fun to be part of.
What is the best piece of advice another teacher has given to you? The best piece of advice that I have received from another teacher is to focus on the relationships with your students first and the academics will come later.
What is the best book you’ve read recently? The best book I am currently reading is The Writing Thief by Ruth Culham. I wanted to find a book that would enhance my writing instruction practices and this one has opened up a whole new way of thinking about how we teach writing.
