Southeast Region Awards & Scholarships
Ralph Ford Scholarship
Renee Bates Memorial Pre-Service Scholarship
Renee was a Member Service Coordinator for the Southeast Region. She was pivotal in encouraging and supporting MSTA members in the region. Many leaders in MSTA joined and served due to her encouragement. Renee talked to everyone. No one was a stranger. She promoted the organization by creating and maintaining strong relationships with members. She spent hours (day and night) with members on the phone and in person. She met with superintendents and principals in order to get the results needed for our members and the districts. It is in her spirit of encouragement and support that we offer this scholarship for pre-service teachers.
This scholarship is for $500. Two scholarships will be given each semester.
For Fall semester applicants, submissions must be received by September 12th. We will let you know our decision prior to Open Hearing, where you will be recognized.
For Spring semester applicants, submissions must be received by February 6th. We will let you know our decision within a month and you will be recognized at Spring Banquet.
